Discover the magic of Northern Chile on this trip that will take you through beautiful valleys and gorges heading towards Laguna Roja (Red Lagoon), also called Mar Rojo (Red Sea), known by its sweet and hot waters (40-50 ºC) Enjoy the commune of Camiña, touring archaeological, natural and heritage sites.

Day 1: Camiña

We lwill start our journey having breakfast in Huara, an ancient town in the desert, and then continue towards the Geoglifos Cerro Sol, where you can see several figures and take pictures. We will then continue towards the Tilviche geoglyphs to see a panel of camels and herders painted with addition technique (between 400 and 1450 b.C).

Later on, we will continue to the Chillaiza ravine, where will appreciate some rupreste art and then continue towards Camiña, the main town of the commune, to enjoy lunch. In the afternoon we will walk through the villages of Juanca and Apamilca, adjacent to Camiña.

Day 2: Laguna Roja

After taking breakfast we will depart towards the mythical colored lagoons, Green, Yellow and Red. We will tour the lakes and cross the river.

Later on, we will visit the Tranque Caritaya, a former civil engineering work built in 1930. Will we see different species of birds.

We will go back to Camiña for our farewell lunch.

Equipment

We recommend bringing:

  • Clothing fit for high temperatures in the afternoon and low temperatures during the morning and afternoon.
  • In winter having warm clothing is essential.
