- Departure: 06:30
- Duration: 8 hours
- Pickup / Dropoff: Hotel en Puerto Natales
What you will visit:
- 1 Puerto Natales
- 2 Serrano glacier and Balmaceda glacier
We will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Natales and travel to Puerto Bories. On the way, we will see the buildings of the old local refrigeration plant, as well as small estancias.
Upon reaching the pier, we will board the boat that will take us to navigate through Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. The first glacier we will see is the Balmaceda Glacier, which descends from the mountain of the same name and is remarkable for its significant retreat. It is said that ten years ago, the icefall reached the water level. We will dock at Puerto Toro and walk about one kilometer through a beautiful native forest mainly consisting of Coigües, Murtilla de Magallanes, Chaura, and many lichens covering trunks and rocks.
We will explore the edge of a lake formed by the melting of this mountain glacier, admiring the different shapes and shades of the floating icebergs from the Serrano Glacier until we reach its impressive front wall.
In the afternoon, we will return to Puerto Natales by the same route.
