After breakfast at the hostel, a private transfer will be waiting for you to head towards Torres del Paine National Park. You'll travel through beautiful landscapes until reaching the main entrance, Laguna Amarga, where it's necessary to register with CONAF (park rangers), before continuing the journey to the Welcome Center. After about 5 minutes of walking, you'll reach Torre Central, where your trekking will begin. Today's hike starts through the Ascencio Valley, enjoying its vast forests. During the final ascent, you'll traverse an immense field of giant rocks until reaching one of the world's most iconic viewpoints, the famous Base Torres viewpoint. At an altitude of 900 meters above sea level, marvel at the three granite towers (north, central, and south) and the brilliant turquoise glacial lake at their feet. Take beautiful photos and enjoy your box lunch before returning along the same path to catch the private transportation that will take you back to Puerto Natales.

What you will visit:

  • 1 Francés Valley
  • 2 Vértice Paine Grande Shelter

You will depart early from your hotel in Puerto Natales, where a private transfer will be waiting for you to begin your journey to Torres del Paine National Park. Upon arrival at the CONAF administration, your hike along the Las Carretas Trail to Refugio Paine Grande will commence. You'll have panoramic views of the park throughout the hike, and during the final stretch, you'll enjoy beautiful views of Lake Pehoé. Upon arriving at Paine Grande and completing your check-in, you can rest and enjoy dinner at the refuge in the afternoon

Day 4: Hike to Valle del Francés

What you will visit:

  • 1 Grey Glacier
  • 2 Vértice Paine Grande Shelter

Today's hike will be a round trip, starting and ending at Refugio Paine Grande, so we recommend starting early! After breakfast at the refuge, order your box lunch and get ready for the adventure.

You'll travel to the heart of the park, bordering the blue waters of Lake Skottsberg. After approximately 2.5 hours of hiking, you'll reach Campamento Italiano (ranger station), where you'll begin your journey towards Valle del Francés. Climb up large rocks and then continue through the forest until you reach the Plateau del Francés (Francés viewpoint). Here, you'll be rewarded with incredible views of Los Cuernos, turquoise glacial lakes, and astonishing hanging glaciers cascading down the eastern face of Paine Grande mountain (3,050 meters above sea level). If you're lucky, you may hear the thunderous noise of the glacier and water falling, and it's also quite common to witness an avalanche. Enjoy your box lunch and well-deserved rest. Descend along the same trail back to Campamento Italiano and then to Refugio Paine Grande. Enjoy dinner at Refugio Paine Grande.
