Rosales also pointed out that Santiago de Chile offers excellent connections to other destinations within the country, such as Puerto Varas and San Pedro de Atacama, making it easier for travelers to explore beyond the capital. This variety and readiness have made the Chilean capital a highly demanded destination in 2024. Gil also recommended destinations such as San Pedro de Atacama and Calama, and suggested a visit to Santa Cruz, near Santiago, which is ideal for wine lovers.

According to data from Infobae based on official figures from the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay, there has been a decline in trips to Argentina and an increase towards Chile during the first quarter of 2024. Although the nominal difference is still significant, the numbers show a clear trend: In the first quarter of the year, 7,686 Uruguayans traveled to Chile, with an average stay of 7.7 days. This represents a considerable increase compared to the 5,555 tourists who traveled during the same period the previous year.
