Departure at 08:30 hrs, heading to the former Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works (UNESCO World Heritage), to learn about its industrial machinery, where saltpeter was produced for export to Europe and the USA. Explore its dusty streets and ruins, such as the market, grocery store, theater, school, and more. Then, we’ll head south to have a box lunch at the Tamarugal Reserve and visit the CEDAM (Environmental Education Center) of CONAF, where the entire ecosystem of the reserve is displayed. Afterward, we’ll visit the Pintados Geoglyphs Park, which is the largest concentration of geoglyphs in the world, with over 300 geomorphic, anthropomorphic, and geometric figures located in thematic panels on the slopes of the Coastal Range, dating back between 900 to 1,300 years. We will cross the vast Pintados Dry Salt Flat to admire the geoglyphs. Arrival in Iquique at 19:30 hrs.
